A Great Resume Building Experience!
Wheelock offers two one-year-long full-time positions and one one-year-long part-time position to graduated students or students in graduate programs here at Dartmouth:
The Store Manager is in charge of ordering textbooks and managing the Bookrush staff. She or he is responsible for communicating with professors and department administrators about books. Well-developed organizational and people skills, grace under pressure, and the ability to multi-task are important qualities for this position.
Shipping and Receiving Manager
The Shipping and Receiving Manager handles the physical inventory of Wheelock. She or he receives shipments, stocks the store, catalogs and organizes storage, and returns overstock. The Shipping and Receiving Manager trains and supervises the majority of our staff during the term. A sharp memory, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to lift heavy boxes are assets to this position.
Custom Content Manager
The Custom Content Manager creates print and digital readers, supervises staff, handles design and upkeep of the website, takes care of most graphic design and advertising, and manages and develops the digital services available through Wheelock Academic Resources. Good communication and organizational skills are a must, prior experience with computer hardware and software would be great, but we are happy to train a willing person with talent and enthusiasm! The Custom Content is a part-time managerial position.
Managerial positions are generally an 8:30 am - 5:30 pm commitment. However, Bookrush week requires 12-hour days and the week before and after often require extended hours as well. Weekend work is occasionally required.
To apply for managerial positions, please submit cover letter and resume in person at Wheelock Books. All three positions begin in late June or early July 2011 and last for one year.
Wheelock offers part-time employment to 2-5 students during each term. We're always looking for people to work for us!
We seek people who are reliable, who enjoy customer service, and who are willing to ask lots of questions. No prior experience necessary--only eagerness to learn!
If you're interested in working, give us a call at 603-643-6567, email us at firstname.lastname@example.org, or stop by the store and ask for Whit (the owner) or the Store Manager.
